My Quest

Hey guys,

We're well into summer now. I'm having a great time here bouncing between houses.

I have about $23.00 saved for my trip to Barbados. Heroic, isn't it? I came up with 20 bucks in a month.

I started working at the church 3 weeks ago. It's been going well. 'Cept for the fact that they forgot to pay me. Again. In the 2 times out of 3 weeks I've een there, they've forgotten to pay me.

Well, I'm not one to bug them, so I'll just casually drop hints.

I'm going to an entrepeneurship camp in Mattawa in August and I've been keeping track of my inventions. I think the timed candle and Sarah's Super De-Stinker Stick! What's so special about the de-odourant? Well, it's black. So you can wear nice-smelling deodourant  and a black shirt.

I was thinking about jobs I would like to do the other day, and I found that the three things I like to do most cross in one place: journalism. I love literature, I'd like to travel, and I'd like to get the story before anyone else.

A guy that plays baseball with us, Bobby, went to school for journalism. I'll have to ask him about it. See if it's as fun as I think it would be. I know it will be. I'll have to look into colleges that have good writing programs.

Oh man, I'm doing it again! I'm not even out of elementary school and I'm worrying about my job!

My head must be broken. (No comments from the peanut gallery)

Well, I'm going to go look up colleges with writing programs.

My Quest

Hey Guys,

So, a lot of you know that I'm 1/4 Beijan (That's Barbdos, a carribbean island). So I've begun my quest to go there and visit my (deceased) Grandma's family. The Kelly family may not even know she's dead. But they probably do. Anyway, I still want to go there and see what the island is like, because she grew up there before coming to Canada and marrying my Grandpa.

I looked into it, and it'll cost me about $1200 to get there. That's just air fare. I have to save stuff for food and someplace to sleep. I'll probably just sleep on the beach. They Kellys don't have to have me rooming with them. I'll just have to get one of them bamboo mats that people take to the beach and sleep on that.

But they will probablky let me in...I just have to track them down. I tried ancestry.ca and all I got was Irish Kellys. And I tried yellowpages Barbados and there was nothing. So they don't have a phone. I'll have to write them a letter. Maybe if I write the govornment of Barbados, they'll help me find them.

My Dad says that as far as he knows, Grandma still has a sister that never left the island. Maybe she got married and changed her name, so that's why she's not inthe yellow pages. If you're reading this, Auntie, PLEASE contact me! I really want to go to Barbados.

I hope the need for babysitting in Dorset holds out, I need the money to go to Barbados.

Anyway, I'll have to go now. It's bedtime.

Bye!

-Sarah Russell.

Hey guys...

Well, I took the babysitting course yesterday. Iy was fun, but it was 8 whole hours long! Oh well, now I have been certified a babysitter by St. John's Ambulance! The Pattersons are here today...I love these guys! They lived across the street from Mom when she was a kid, Owen saved Mom from a dog when she was 5 or 6. They're both really nice. And their son David is pretty cool, too. Although he is always "sneaking" a smoke. owen's gonna take us fishing today, first fish of the season. Can't wait.  I can smell the bread baking...Sigh, it's summer. Fishing, bread, visitors, boat rides, old neighbours, new friends...

TO THE DAYS THAT ARE! :)

Dear people who are reading my blog,

I just woke up. It's Sunday morning and Dad's stil snoozing. Lesley just left about half an hour ago. She drives a red mini cooper with a black top and a sunroof. It's really cool but it doesn't really like the snow... Anyway, we have to be in church for 11:00, and it's about 8:37, so we have a while. I hope Aunt Mary is there, she's really nice. Aunt Mary came to Dorset from Erie in the 1920s, and she just turned 95. She has a degree in archaeology, so she's full of stories and everyone loves her. Jessica and Ashley are usually there. Ashley's about 10 and Jess is in high school, but every week they bring crafts. Last time, we painted masks with magnets on the back, we had a great time doing that. But when I stuck mine to the fridge, the magnet couldn't support the weight of the mask. So I had to put it on the fridge just above the water thingy so it could sit on the rim. I like tinkerbell. Do you? She is my favourite Disney character. I really like fairies, even though I'm a little old for them. I hope Dad will wake up soon. I'm getting hungry.  We're having waffles. I like waffles. Hope he has the real syrup and not the gross fake stuff. Bleck. The real syrup tastes sooo much better. I'm gonna go check the fridge.

Nope. just Aunt Jemeima. I like butter. One of the better things in life. I go into the fridge and cut a corner off the butter and eat it without toast. I love it but Mom says I'm getting fat. I'm gonna upload a picture and you'll see. There. Does that look fat to you? Okay. I'm kidding, I found that on google. lemme see if I can find a pic of me on my desktop...

That's me swimming with Bart a few years ago. I'm 5'1 and I weigh 95-102 pounds. I'm not perfect, but I don't look like the lady who really shouldn't be wearing that swimsuit. I'm gonna go wake up dad.

Peace.

-Sarah

At school today in gym class we played VOLLEYBALL! Usually, I stink at sports, but today, something clicked and I think I improved! I actually touched the ball and got it over the net! I really didn't wanna stop, I could play all day! But then the bell rang...But I'm really happy now!!! Oh, and I'm gonna advertise this resort.LINK - our Mascott. This is link, the mascot of the Logging Chain Lodge.

Link is cool. Me like link. I have been there. 5 STARS!!!!! It's a really cool place.
